Allan Morgan ‘Church Steeple’ Original Artwork
Born in 1952, Allan Morgan graduated from Coventry Lanchester Art College with a BA Honours in Fine Art. His professional career has since focused mainly on realistic landscape painting, although he has also enjoyed considerable success as an illustrator.
Allan Morgan lives in the beautiful border country of Herefordshire and Powys. He has recently extended his style to encompass a more “colourist” approach in much of his work. The basis of his inspiration remains largely the same. However, namely the love of light, colour and atmosphere in landscape. Influences in Allan’s paintings are varied and include the Pre-Raphaelites, Fauvists and impressionists. Having formerly spent many years living near the coast, consequently, he regularly returns to this subject matter with much of his work.
There really is nothing more satisfying than a beautiful, well painted, classic oil painting. Allan Morgan never fails to deliver.
His home in the border county of Powys gives huge inspiration. Consequently, his very British combination of bright corn fields, or bold poppies with dark brooding skies, adorn many a living room.
Certainly, every piece is painted with care and intensity and the mid-ground gives rise to exquisite detail with tiny farms and villages hidden amongst the trees, simultaneously allowing the viewer to feel familiarity and comfort in the scene.
The vibrant colour of the fields and the promise of an unexpected ray of sunshine is enough to hold your gaze in the hope of seeing just such a change.
