Anna Wright – Side Parting

Anna Wright is a Scottish artist and illustrator whose work is inspired by the natural beauty of the countryside.  She grew up in Dumfries and Galloway, surrounded by wildlife and rural landscapes. As a result, nature plays a central role in her distinctive and characterful artwork.

Rural Inspiration and Early Influences

Anna Wright artist developed her creative voice through a deep connection to her surroundings.

While studying at the Edinburgh College of Art, she explored these rural influences further. Consequently, her work began to reflect both observation and imagination.

Today, she continues to draw inspiration from the countryside, combining natural elements with a playful sense of whimsy.

A Unique Mixed Media Technique

Anna has developed a signature style that blends Indian ink, fabric, feathers, and paint.

She uses bold, expressive ink lines to capture the personality and movement of her subjects. In addition, she incorporates textiles and feathers to introduce colour, pattern, and texture.
