What is a Giclée Print? – pronounced ‘zhee-klay’

A giclée print is a high-quality fine art reproduction, created by spraying archival pigment inks onto archival fine art paper or canvas.

The term “giclée,” coined by Jack Duganne, comes from the French word meaning “to spray or squirt,” which reflects the printing technique. Artists and printers use this term to describe the process of producing prints from high-resolution digital captures of original artwork.

They print these images using archival-quality inks on archival-grade substrates like canvas and fine art paper. This method ensures exceptional colour stability and resistance to fading over time.
