Louise Schofield – Yellow and Lime Burst
Louise Schofield – Yellow and Lime Burst. Original Artwork. Hand Signed
Louise was born and raised in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. She was lucky enough to have a childhood filled with many adventures. Without a doubt, her inspiration comes from the countryside and coastal areas where her parents introduced her to the amazing world of nature.
Subsequently, many hours walking through woodlands watching the wildlife. Or playing in the streams and rivers, or long sunny days at the coast exploring the rock pool and caves. So, it’s no surprise that her passion is for nature. In addition, when she wasn’t out exploring the world she was creating drawings and paintings from her discoveries.
Hence, her art career began in 1991 after leaving art college at the age of 20. Firstly, with a small craft stall in the local shopping centre where she sold her artwork. As a result, she often gained an audience whilst painting pets and wildlife. The birth of her daughter in 2001, resulted in her art career taking a backseat. She was still creating her artwork, but just not to the same extent she had previously. Recently, she has rebuilt her art business, mainly working from her home studio. Louise has travelled around the country to various art and craft events and sold her work online.
Undoubtedly, her career has again changed. However, she is now working with one of the finest UK art publishers who are representing her alcohol ink artwork. They are distributing it to some of the most prestigious UK art galleries.
Conversely, she works in various art mediums. Yet, it’s her recent discovery of alcohol ink that has captured both her imagination and that of my collectors and clients. Alcohol ink is a highly pigmented acid-free fluid art medium that basically has a mind of its own. It was its free-flowing nature and vibrant colours that mesmerised her. They are the perfect combination. As a result, they allow her to create the most spectacular textural and eye-catching pieces of artwork.
Presently, when creating her artwork her studio tends to look more like a science lab than an artists’ studio. With all her unconventional tools including, pipettes, straws, bottles and spritzers, occasionally though, she will still use a brush!
Louise Schofield’s art makes you happy and can bring a smile on even the dullest of days. And, let’s face it, in England we’re used to dull days. You will find her work is fuelled with positivity, joy and her love of nature. In conclusion you can feel her emotion in the pieces she creates.
