Malin Ostlund – Nesting Mind
Inspiration
Ostlund is a self-taught artist with a love for painting the female figure and portraits. Without a doubt, in her painting process she always tries to find an intuitive connection to a more beautiful and poetic side of life.
As a result, her creative expression is most recognized by dreamy paintings filled with friendly souls. Additionally, they are often with a connection to the beauty of nature. Accordingly, they are simply an inspiring place to be where you can dream and rest. Consequently, the symbolism is often about personal development, inner strength and playfulness.
Style
Equally important, Malin’s paintings are created with a mix of classical portrait painting and a more modern expression. On the other hand, that sometimes even tends to the abstract.
Her paintings are mainly created with oil paint on canvas and processed in many layers.
Exhibitions
Since her first solo exhibition was in 2010, Malin Ostlund has participated in several jury-rated, collective and separate exhibitions. Understandably, too many to list here. Today she works as a full-time artist in her studio in central Skellefteå, Sweden, and has clients and collectors around the world.

What is a Giclée Print? – pronounced ‘zhee-klay’
Giclee is a French word meaning ‘a spray or a squirt of liquid’. Because of this, Jack Duganne coined the term ‘Giclée’. The term ‘giclée print’ is used to describe the giclée printing process. Accordingly, images are created from the high-resolution digital capture of original artwork. Then they are printed using archival quality inks onto archival fine art substrates. Hence, canvas and fine art papers are used to achieve giclée prints with exceptional stability and lightfastness.
