Martin Reid – A Force to be Reckoned With. Limited Edition Print. Hand Signed

One of Britain’s most exciting emerging artists, Martin Reid has perfected two very unique styles of painting. Firstly, is his use of a charcoal dry brushing technique using traditional Chinese brushes. He had started experimenting with the method whilst living in South-East Asia for a few years. Subsequently, he mainly uses it to produce stunning hyper-realist animal and human portraits that are often mistaken for photographs. Each piece in his latest collection entitled “Strength from Within” carries significant meaning. Consequently, each piece was produced to provide inspiration both through periods of struggle and times of prosperity.
Secondly, his alternative style is a technique he has developed himself using oil on the back of glass. Additionally, he was featured on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year. Moreover, receiving praise from the judges on the vibrancy of the colours that this method produces in the finished product.

Martin has a diverse background and, with four children who also share his passion for painting, has a full life!

Martin’s recent solo exhibition, ‘Finding Light’, premiered at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre. Undoubtedly, it explored the relationships between light, mind-sets, knowledge and empowerment. It also investigated how one might tackle adversities in life and the consequential darkness this can bring. Subsequently, it highlighted how there is a seed of creativity in each of us which is only able to grow once the outer shell of self-limiting beliefs are broken through.
“Painting has always been a great passion and I love to see people’s reactions to my art. Each piece has a deep story and it is great to see how these paintings resonate deeply with others. Martin Reid
