Nicky Litchfield – Elevenses

Background

As a child Nicky spent her weekends and summers at her grandparents farm and it was there that her love of animals began. Consequently, Nicky paints from her studio in the picturesque village of Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley. Moreover, she can be often found out and about sketching with her companion, Max the dog, by her side.
Predominantly, Nicky paints traditional subject matter such as hares, foxes and livestock. Subsequently, they are at the heart of her paintings, which she creates mainly in pastel. With a playful use of line and colour she produces delightful, contemporary artworks full of character and charm.

What is a Giclée Print? – pronounced ‘zhee-klay’

Giclée printing is a fine art printing method that creates museum-quality reproductions of original artworks and photography. The word “giclée” comes from the French term gicler, meaning “to spray,” which refers to how the ink is applied. Instead of traditional printing, giclée uses high-resolution inkjet technology to spray millions of tiny pigment particles onto archival-quality paper or canvas.

How Giclée Printing Works

Unlike standard prints, which may fade over time, giclée prints use archival pigment-based inks combined with acid-free materials. This process ensures not only exceptional colour accuracy but also remarkable durability. When displayed correctly, giclée prints can last for more than a century without noticeable fading.

Why Giclée Prints Stand Out

Detail and Precision – Every brushstroke, texture, and tonal variation is faithfully reproduced.

Vibrant Colours – Wide-gamut inks capture the full richness of the original artwork.

Longevity – Fade-resistant materials make them suitable for both collectors and galleries.

Professional Standard – Giclée has become the benchmark for limited-edition fine art prints worldwide.
