Biography

Oshe –  Electric Dreams – Canvas Deluxe

A Distinctive Graphic Style

The Oshe artist creates bold graphic artworks that simplify complex scenes into strong shapes and balanced colours. Instead of capturing every detail, he carefully removes visual distractions. As a result, the viewer can focus on form, structure, and atmosphere.

Consequently, the artwork feels calm and visually striking. The brain naturally fills in the missing information, allowing the scene to feel complete.

As Oshe explains:
“The human brain is a very clever bit of kit. Visually we only need half the information to understand the full picture.”

Early Inspiration in Liverpool

The Oshe artist grew up in Liverpool, where an unusual influence shaped his artistic direction.

On the kitchen wall of his childhood home hung a poster advertising the historic Liverpool Overhead Railway. Although the real waterfront was noisy and industrial, the poster transformed the scene into a harmonious arrangement of colours and shapes.

For example, the River Mersey appeared as a rich Mediterranean blue. Therefore, the image felt calm and beautiful rather than gritty and industrial.

This moment sparked a fascination with the power of graphic design to reinterpret reality.

The Influence of Vintage Poster Art

As his interest developed, the Oshe artist discovered the golden age of poster design.

Travel posters from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries used bold shapes, limited colours, and strong composition. Because of this, they could instantly capture the spirit of a place.

Similarly, Oshe uses these design principles in his own work. He reduces scenes to their essential shapes while maintaining a strong sense of location.

As a result, the viewer experiences atmosphere rather than a precise moment in time.

Childhood Creativity and Design

However, poster art was not the only influence.

During childhood, the Oshe artist loved building with Lego and painting early paint-by-numbers kits. These simple activities encouraged an appreciation for structure, colour blocks, and simplified forms.

In addition, these early creative experiences helped develop the visual language that appears in his work today.

Creating Luxe Vistas

Today, many artworks by the Oshe artist are described as “luxe vistas.”

These stylised landscapes and city scenes capture the feeling of a location. However, they avoid unnecessary detail. Instead, Oshe focuses on colour balance, architectural form, and visual rhythm.

Consequently, the artworks feel timeless and elegant. They also work beautifully in modern interiors where bold shapes and strong colour harmony create an eye-catching focal point.

The Story Behind the Oshe Logo

Collectors are often curious about the distinctive logo used by the Oshe artist.

Interestingly, the inspiration comes from fruit stickers. Oshe has always loved their small size, bright colours, and nostalgic charm.

Moreover, they represent sunshine, freshness, and positivity. Because of this, the simple badge design works perfectly alongside his artworks and promotional material.

As Oshe jokes, it may simply be the perfect excuse to create his own fruit stickers.
