Biography

Paul Evans – Wild Summer Meadow

Background

Paul Evans is a British painter based in Lavenham, Suffolk.

Renowned for his evocative landscapes, Paul captures nature in all her glory. He strives not only to portray what he sees, but also to convey the sounds, scents, and atmosphere of the exact moment. For him, each painting represents more than a landscape — it reflects life itself.

Over the years, Paul has explored many breathtaking areas of the British countryside, including the Kent Weald and the Sussex Downs. In addition, his coastal scenes from Cornwall and East Anglia invite viewers to pause and experience the sea’s shifting moods.

Paul’s work consistently transports viewers to the very spot where he once stood, surrounded by nature and at one with the world. Furthermore, as his style has developed, he has introduced more abstract backgrounds while maintaining an exquisite eye for detail in his central subjects. This evolution results in paintings that are both striking and memorable.

Each limited edition print carries Paul’s signature. He personally hand-embellishes them with metallic inks and finishes them with varnish, ensuring every piece feels unique.

Looking to the future, Paul explains: “My aim is to record the landscape and coast of Suffolk throughout the year. I love the dramatic difference between the snow-covered skeleton of the land compared to the lushness of summer.”

What is a Giclée Print? – pronounced ‘zhee-klay’

So, a giclée print is a high quality fine art reproduction. Archival pigment inks are sprayed on to an archival fine art paper or canvas.
Because of this, Jack Duganne coined the term ‘Giclée’, since it’s a French word meaning ‘a spray or a squirt of liquid’. The term ‘giclée print’ is used to describe the giclée printing process. Accordingly, images are created from the high-resolution digital capture of original artwork. Then they are printed using archival quality inks onto archival fine art substrates. Hence, canvas and fine art papers are used to achieve giclée prints with exceptional stability and lightfastness.
