Richard Blunt – Always Back To You

Richard Blunt is a contemporary British artist known for elegant, story-driven oil paintings that blend timeless style with modern sophistication.

Born and raised in the West Midlands, Richard developed a strong passion for creativity from an early age. As a teenager, he explored art in depth and planned to study Fine Art. However, after receiving discouraging advice about career prospects, he chose a more practical route and studied three-dimensional design at Worcester College of Art.

After college, Richard felt uncertain about his next step. Instead, he turned to music and spent over a decade performing in various bands. During this time, he relocated to Cardiff, South Wales, where he later completed a degree in Popular Music. He continues to live and work there today.

Although music played a significant role in his life, Richard never abandoned his love for art. In his late twenties, he discovered oil painting and immediately connected with the medium. From that point on, his artistic journey gained real momentum. Early gallery success followed, and in 2012 a UK-based publishing house signed him. As a result, his original works and embellished prints began appearing in galleries across the UK and quickly attracted collectors worldwide.

Richard primarily paints in oils using traditional techniques. However, he draws constant inspiration from film, music, and everyday life. As a result, his compositions feel both classic and contemporary.

Most importantly, storytelling sits at the heart of his work. He carefully selects fashion, settings, and props from bygone eras to build atmosphere and intrigue. Consequently, each painting invites the viewer into a moment—capturing themes of love, life, and mystery with elegance and depth.
