Biography

Zalini – Who Turned The Oven Off

The Artist Behind the Energy

Zalini (real name Kevin) began his professional journey by creating stunning 3D butterfly artworks. These quickly gained recognition and were collected across the UK and around the world. However, after time and reflection, he felt a shift. It was time to move toward something more personal—something that truly resonated with him and reflected his evolving creative style.

The name Zalini is more than just a signature. It’s a heartfelt tribute to his family, blending the names of his three children. Together with his wife, they’ve all been a key part of his artistic journey. The name also reflects the energy and chaos of his innovative new technique—where unpredictability meets precision, and something truly original is born.

For over 30 years, art has been in Zalini’s blood. He turned professional a decade ago. Since then, he has explored a wide range of styles and materials. From metal artworks that shimmer with grinder-created holographic effects, to 3D nature-inspired abstracts, his work is constantly evolving. His creative curiosity and boundary-pushing mindset have shaped his unique path.

Injected Art: A Technique Like No Other

Zalini’s “injected” technique is unlike anything else. It took years of patient refinement. Using syringes, he applies extremely fine lines of paint onto a flat surface. Gravity plays its part, guiding the paint as it flows. What starts as free-flowing, seemingly random lines begins to take shape. Gradually, the image emerges.

Each piece is built up layer by layer. The result? Remarkable depth, texture, and energy. No two pieces are ever the same.

Sometimes, Zalini works loosely. He lets the lines simply suggest the subject. Other times, he paints with deliberate precision. It’s a delicate balancing act—between control and spontaneity. Things don’t always go to plan, but that’s part of the magic. The unpredictability gives life to the work.

The Story Behind the Syringe

Zalini has always looked for something different—something to make his art stand out. He wanted to create work that was not only visually striking but also tactile and original. Six years ago, he began developing a brand-new technique.

During this time, he came across a syringe dispenser. It’s a tool normally used in commercial manufacturing to apply glue with accuracy. But Zalini saw its creative potential. He started experimenting, testing how it could be used for fine art.

The process wasn’t easy. It took countless hours of trial and error. He poured in time, energy, and nearly all of his resources. Eventually, his persistence paid off. He had created something extraordinary—a technique that was truly his own.

With confidence in his new style, he was finally ready to share his work with the world. The result? Art that feels as innovative as it looks.

Nature, Style, and Emotion

Although Zalini has painted many portraits, his true passion lies in the natural world. This comes through in his anthropomorphic pieces—where animal subjects are given human-like qualities. These artworks blur the lines between nature and humanity. They spark curiosity. They create connection.

His injected scribble style brings raw energy and movement. Each piece is rich with emotion. You can feel it in the posture, in the details, and especially in the eyes.

The bold use of vibrant colour, set against a high-gloss black background, adds powerful contrast. It makes each artwork leap out with drama and personality. Framed in sleek black woodgrain box frames, these pieces are designed to make a statement. They transform any room into something vibrant and unforgettable.
